Kandy Perehara dancers
Dancers receive around 10.000 Rupees for their performance
and training. Nowadays it is mainly youth and 40+ who are
getting involved into the Perehara.

Kandy Fire Dancers
Certainly the fire dancers are one of the biggest attractions
of the Perehara.

Right next to the Sri Dalada Maligawa the Perehara procession
begins every evening for 10 nights during the first half of
August.
Around 8 o`clock the ceremony starts with the sharp sound
of whips and these rings of fire.
