Finance in Sri Lanka
The currency in Sri Lanka is the Rupee with an exchange rate
of around 120 Rupees for one U.S. Dollar.
Some prices are similar to European or American standards
like for example $3 for a few oranges inside a super market.
Currently Sri Lankan banks such as the International HSBC
are offering interest rates for foreign currency deposits
at 7% and more.
Meanwhile the inflation rate has gone down to the 15 % range.
One bottle of Carlsberg beer costs around $1,50 inside a
store and around $3 - 6 in a pub or hotel.
