had been severly affected by the war over many years after
it had been a main tourist destination back in the 80s.
Some of the beaches in Northern Sri Lanka are very beautiful
and most famous is of course the Nilaveli beach with also
the Nilaveli Beach Hotel that had suffered a lot from useless
staff before the final phase of the war.
At one time waiters had not even been able to serve drinks
and guests were forced to leave their dinner tables and to
buy bottles at the pool bar.
Right next door is the Nilaveli Garden Hotel with nice rooms,
better prices and a much more friendly service.
